Earlier this month we premiered the first part of the short film,"The Model," featuring the golden throated Brazilian charmer, Seu Jorge ("City of God," "Life Aquatic") as a character called Marcello. Along with the smoothest version of "Everybody Loves The Sunshine" ever recorded, Seu Jorge And Almaz's cover of Kraftwerk's "The Model" was teased at the end. Here, in chapter two we get treated to more of Jorge's hypnotic take on the song and how it fits into the recurring dreams of a mysterious woman that have come to consume him....continue reading @ IFC
Im impressed about this fantastic visuals and the short story behind. Take a trip and view the movie.

Velourpistol.com presents "Mind Traveling" featuring Georgia Anne Muldrow, digital single from the forthcoming "The Vale of Happiness" soundtrack.
"The Vale of Happiness" is my three-part series chronicling a young artist coming into his own in present-day Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Descended from a family of Afro-Dominican immigrants who moved to the neighborhood in the 1950's , our main character struggles to express thegrowing feelings of helplessness and rage spreading throughout his community in the face of rapid gentrification.
We featured VERTUAL VERTIGO several times on the blog with some very dope releases. These are the latest visuals off the "Drink Tickets" (Corn Cobs) EP. These Chicago based Mcees are dope and bring you that cassette recorder sound back to your corner.
Deech from Minsk hit me up with a wonderful hyper-modern beat science composition. Local Sniff is an electronic piece with perfectly insetted classic strings. Strong piece of instrumental music. Bigup Deech.
Here we go with the last part of this great series.
“Live fast, die young“...
In New York the ride is wild on the road to riches… And no one embody that way of life better than the Ruff Ryders crew from the Bronx : talents who go from broke-to-multi-millionaire-to- bankrupt, dare-devil Bikers, hustlers who try to make it happen livin’ the Illegal Life like Mysonne…
There’s only one rule to this game: live fast and die in another New York minute.

I´m not a big fan of mash-ups. But these are pretty clever and well done. Download the entire Arrival EP for free. Good for the daily dose of pop.
The Arbiters first hit in 2006 with their debut EP. Now they strike back: “Ain’t No Shooter Shining” marries the warmth of Bill Withers with the charisma of Lil Wayne, laid-back Jamaican-style. “Exciters Go Back To Cali” features a hip-hop travelogue as told by Biggie and Mos Def, laid over a ‘70s Panamanian funk beat. “Hip Hop Is A Free Banquet” merges dramatic ‘60s gangster film score with a frenetic indie electro vibe. “Folks Love Going To The Same Old Go Go” flips the Motown script with a perfectly placed interlude by Peter, Bjorn & John, and Ludacris on the mic. “Virgin Voices” stitches together genre-hopping acapellas with the indie electronica of Phoenix. And “Tired Horses,” based on the bizarre Dylan song, is a strangely hypnotic concoction that found its jazzy backbone via Swedish band Koop.
Well, this is one of those cases where you wish the hook would do a bit more to make this a great song. Why not change it up at least once?
The beat is bananas and Styles feasts on it like he always does.
Still don`t know about this one, but SP always getting love.
By the way where is Jadakiss at?
In 2 days Reks new Mixtape "In Between The Lines Volume 2” will drop. Here is the latest cream topping song with Sha Stimuli and Reef the Lost Cauze. yirrrppp. Song is dope.!!
Souleance are back! Following last year’s massive Le Monde EP and January’s Le Plaisir 7”, the French duo return with the sublime Soupape EP. Souleance are producer extraordinaire Fulgeance and the French Funky President DJ Soulist. Fulgeance is rapidly becoming one of the most respected beatmakers in Europe with his work on Musique Large, One Handed and in his Peter Digital Orchestra guise. Soulist is one of the men behind the legendary What The Funk? Parties in Paris and is a stalwart of the Parisian music scene.
Timbaland found this unreleased Missy track on his drive and people around the world immediately start to wiggle their fucking limbs.
Aw man, play this one and even my buddy Rayan would get of the wall and hit the dancefloor. This is for you.

It`s good to see one of the best albums this year getting so much support they had to re-issue as a 2xLP. This is the new edited cover above. This track will be on there as bonus. Fire.
More Marcberg shit over here.
I don´t get the whole storyabout the girl and the moon.. but the music fits quite well to a journey through the dark.. To me it´s a diverse collection of wintermusic: Some laid back, jazzy, some more modern, glitchy and really banging tunes. The focus is on the instrumentals nevertheless we find voices in one or another track. Overall, everything suits together as a good musical collage for the dark time of the year. get lost- jo

Stalley shared the first song "Hercules" from his upcoming album Intelligent Trunk Muzik. Stalley on that 2 Live crew sample makes hungry for more. Stay tuned.
Oh No & Alchemist with a 3-minute nightmare/mini-horror movie for “Take Drugs” off the new album Gutter Water on Decon. We've got a bonus track version of the album available now in the Stones Throw store.
MelloMusicGroup yet again blesses us with another great instrumental compilation. We like Trek Life and Oddisee equally well so this of course has to get a post.
The WOW instrumental is sick.#
FSD put together this compilation of the samples Kanye used for his new album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasies which I am playing a lot these days. Even Rihanna and Rick Ross can not keep me away from it. Mainly because the beats and the melodies are simply beautiful. I would have definitly dropped Swizz and RZA, because they totally ruin one of the best beats on there.
Listening to Devil In A New Dress you just want to now what the sample is. Here you go. Great job Ty Kidd.

Staten Island, home of 8,000 Liberian immigrants,
might have the largest concentration of child soldiers in North America. US citizens used to see these kids on CNN -carrying a Teddy bear in one hand and an AK-47 in the other- during the Liberian civil war.
Ten years later, they observe this lost generation out their window.
This story has no heroes, only survivors.
Great series. Plus the fact that this is also HipHop, in the way of approaching this whole thing, makes you forget about all that other bullshit in HipHop generaly.

Sampling is archeology. Digging through crates for obscure old records and drafting the sounds of times past into contemporary music is as much about preserving the past as digging for bones is. Few producers take that pursuit as literally as LA native and Armenian beathead Bei Ru, who has traveled across Armenia, Lebanon and Syria on a mission to hunt and rescue rare, out-of-print Armenian 12"s and 45"s from oblivion. He breathes new life into the sounds on those records on Little Armenia (L.A.), an intoxicating voyage through rhythm and melody that serves not only as a dedication to the under-appreciated Armenian musicians of yesteryear and a homage to the Little Armenia section neighborhood of Los Angeles, but also as a musical map of the Armenian diaspora and a wake-up call to his people to take pride in their rich musical history.
Electric instruments and modern sounds began creeping into traditional Armenian music between the 1950s and the 1980s, the era Little Armenia focuses on. These are the songs Bei Ru grew up on, songs he says most Armenians have forgotten. "What inspired me to make this project was all the incredible music I'd find on these old records that most people - even most Armenians - are unaware of," he says. Bei Ru's inspiration to take Armenia's musical past into its future manifests itself in everything from the album's sound to its name. "You walk down a street in the Little Armenia section of Los Angeles, and it's as if the people brought their home country with them. These people, who keep themselves so surrounded by their culture, have forgotten how important the role of music is. Contemporary Armenian music is virtually devoid of any of the aspects of what made those old records so awesome. I felt that Armenians and non-Armenians alike should be exposed to this lost era of music that no one seems to remember." Little Armenia drops November 19th on Musa-Ler Music.
This is a very interesting project by Bei Ru. Sampling armanian music only. Makes me think of the "Syria" beat tape. The whole thing is dropping tomorrow via Musa-Ler Music.
This one beat is for free. Get the rest via Amazon.
We showed you the video release of Bring it some days ago, here we have the complete EP, sent by mr. Kaine Karrera himself. 'Voltage Controlled Feelings' is the sonic testimony of more than two decades of serious electro, funk and boogie studies from Swedish synth commander Opolopo!
Blending epic Blade Runner soundscapes and Krautrock sequencer lines into cruising west coast beats and beyond, he proves that science fiction and funk are not only compatible, but have always belonged together. 'Voltage Controlled Feelings' is a newly discovered planet orbiting a distant star, that also pays homage to the synthesizers, drum machines and the artists who influenced Opolopo's music. Echoes of Prince, Herbie Hancock, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Vangelis, Tangerine Dream and Isao Tomita can be heard throughout the album. Fellow electronauts include L.A. vocalist Erik Rico, known for his work with Marc Mac and Tupac Shakur, UK acid jazz hit singer Farah, Toronto-based jazz vocalist Sacha Williamson and Stockholm-based oral transmorpher of sounds and words Amalia 'Miz Fuze' Townsend, who will soon also release her debut album via TDR produced by Opolopo. I am always appreciative of the love you show my projects, GOOD LOOK. Anyways, I am pleased to bring the second installment in the Awaken Frenk&Stine EP series. We are keeping the drums hard, the bass thick, and the keys dusty for your listening pleasure. Myself (MidPoint X Frenk Stackswell) and N/A Kees are hard at work on the final EP of this series, and we are also putting together a Remix project featuring various MCs reworking of tracks from all three EPs. Be on the lookout for the Frenk&Stine EP 3/3 this December, and more details on the Remix project are soon to come.
Im damn tired, it has been a long day but this made my evening. Part 2 of the 3 Ep series by Frenk & Stine. This Beat Tapes are very dope follow my advice to digg this, you will not be disappointed.
One of the funniest and also best blogs for rap music is Tumblin`Erb. Today he posted a Slick Rick bootleg from the 90s. This is the story to it.
Random Slick Rick Fact: I posted this song on CB a long time ago so sorry if this is old hat, but several months ago I sold the bootleg 12” to Pete Rock’s brother, InI member and long time DMV rep Grap Luva. Grap was shocked to see it, confirming that it was, in fact, a Pete Rock beat but not knowing that it had been booted. He only knew the track from when he snuck into his brothers spot and dubbed it off a DAT. He was also convinced it was a Japanese bootleg because of the spelling: “Sleazy Gynocorogist.” So yeah, I don’t know if anybody is still actively maintaining Pete Rock discographies on the internet but if you are there you go. Update that shit.
This is for Poulou. One of the biggest Slick Rick fans I know. Big Up.
Downloading and uploading this song took about 2 hours so don`t you ever complain that we are not putting in enough work. The internet over here is preparing for the Eid al-Adha holiday and busy cutting up lambs.
Maybe it will be better after that my landlord said.
Inshallah.
Here we have the Video Teaser for Mr. Bibal's new E.P. "Ra", some months ago we intriduced the french producer to our readers (listeners) with his "Mister Bibal - Beats & Breaks Trois // Beattape" project. Im looking forward for the new E.P. and i'll let you know that mr. Bibal will be part of our Rapohnelizenz Beat Tape Vol. 2 dropping in december! Stay tuned.
For those who don't know, I am competing in the 2010 Red Bull Big Tune National Finals in Chicago on Thursday, November 18th. Jake One sent those in the comp an email last night stating we had to flip the Curtis Mayfield song, Hard Times. The 9 producers that get past the first round then do a round playing the sample flip and the best 8 will advance to the second round. This is what I came up with. Enjoy.
Xperiment is one of my fav* producers, you already know that, im sure.. This is his latest installment for the Red Bull Big Tune Beat Battle, digg this dope FLIP.
These beats are perfect right now. I just came home from this party here in Ramallah. I tell you the Arak has gotten into me.
Nice short beats. Simple, but soulful. Apollo Brown is a fucking beast. GG on a late night shift.
I will post every single one of these episodes, because each of them are unique and very well done.
G-Dep is a good guy. "Blast off" comes to my mind immediately. I think I bought the Child of the ghetto LP for under a buck. That shows you a little bit of the story.
The whole episode seems unreal. The Jazz music and little tiny audio effects on his voice combined with the lights and sped-up/reversed visuals make the very harsh reality look like a movie. Of course this is the intention about it. Like aesthetically appealing war photography. Sick.
ARTE once again.
To abridge the waiting time on his new project "One Day We'll Wake Up", Ced Hughes - teamed up with Donwill & Theo Martins for their own "Dont Stop" version. Track is fire, beat is off the KANYE GOOD Friday series // Child Rebel Soldier (Kanye, Pharrell & Lupe Fiasco). Nice Weekend.
Grizzlemania2: In an epic battle between two legends making their return to the battle scene, Philly's own Loch Ness monster E Ness goes up against the New York battle legend Iron Solomon.
Produced entirely by Australian producer ARKiV, "Sound Soulstice" is 1773’s third full-length album, AND their 3rd release for 2010! Songstress Natalie Oliveri, and MCs Othello (of Lightheaded) & Ezekiel38 (Vertual Vertigo) all lend their palettes to the album’s sonic portrait…“The earthly solstice deals with day and night, so we wanted to capture the universality of that concept both lyrically and emotionally” states Wisdm O.N.E.Full album downloads include the instrumental version of "Sound Soulstice," hi-res cover art, liner notes, and official video for "The Goodness/So Clear."
After producing tracks for Baatin, Dynas, Pax and several Dutch hiphop-acts, Nangdo now releases 'Pain, Love and Stardust'. The project consists of 6 unreleased instrumental tracks all produced, arranged and mixed by Nangdo.
Producer Nangdo peeped me his new Future Beats Tape with some über-fresh instrumentals. Digg this if you are down with, synthie springs and wobbling bass-lines. I like it when sounds seems to be victims of an distortion pedal. overdrive yo.
Nosaj Thing is an impressive appearance. He reminds me of a good friend "Schröter" or "Berger"if you want. This cat is making dopamin-like music and combined with "Fair Enough" visuals it is fantastic.
Pudge, the producer behind the All City 10" with LA beatsmith Dibia$e and the Idiot Box instrumental album released earlier this year on RAMP Records, diversifies his portfolio with the I Didnt Know?!?!?! U Rap?????? album (link) featuring Sum, Voice, Malkovich and Chris Clarke, and production from Dibia$e, Samiyam, Ras G and more. A rising star in Los Angeles' progressive beat scene, Pudge was a regular selector at famed L.A. weekly Low End Theory. Pudge now resides in his native New York City.
This is the first Video shot for the Kaine Karrera x Lee Bannon (Me Myself & Music EP) which is slated to drop November 17, 2010. The Sacramento Super Producer on the beats, the Denver raised MC on the lyrics. This is Kaines Most anticipated Tape to Date. Follow @denco_kaine
I don`t know if you remember the Heist Of The Century LP, but that was my shit when it came out. Lucci, Heist of the century (produced by Muggs), Spring water (featuring and produced!! by Raekwon), Gun rule, ... there were so many crazy songs on that LP. So whenever I see the name LA The Darkman I have to take a second and listen.
Uncle Murda had some cool tracks and mixtapes with DJ Green Lantern and you should never write him off. Wasn`t he working on an album and is he still signed to Rocafella? GG is king.
