XL TheRedOne - Around The World And Back

This is dope and doesnt need a discription, but :

XL:
Some time ago I realized that there is a bunch of records in my collection where the producer only uses samples of the music of just one country. So I had the idea to put all these records together into a mix and pay homage to the global hip hop(especially the beat-)scene. Well...it grew bigger and bigger and became a musical world trip. I wanted to consider every continent and as much countries as possible. Sometimes it´s just the name of the track that belongs to a city or countryside or whatever. Maybe you´ll not immediatly get the context every track but there is one. (feel free to ask!) I´m German, so of course the journey starts in Germany (after a short intro) and follows more or less the red line you can see in the map. As it takes much time to do a world trip, it takes its time to listen to this mix. Two hours to be exact.

Well....have fun with the soundtrack for your next holiday! Like the outro says: Love to the World!

Peace, XL

Audio: DJ Soulscape meets David Ellis

There we go, we start our inside on the Asian Hip Hop scene series. It's about time we introduce a very special Funky Korean Music retrospective mixtape by renown Korean DJ Soulscape (360 Sounds) to you folks. There is a world out there and if you are interested, usually we don't post external interviews, but his private homepage is down, so go with the flow on Vice's Creators Project. They did a lovely Job.

On of a kind insider and amateur beat digger from the heart of a vivid pop culture that, which we must admit, was not only a mere copy of American pop, but was able to develop a unique language of her own. Thanks to Soulscape a lot of excellent tunes were archived and survived intellectual holocaust even through the 80s military dictatorship.

Audio: Willie The Kid - The Cure 2 // Mixtape

Finally I get around posting this. I have been listening to Willie`s new tape constantly since it dropped a couple of days ago. Some songs sound very much like Wu-Tang in their prime. La The Darkman`s younger brother uses the same O.V. Wright sample off "Polluted Wisdom" and turns it into "Reign Supreme". Interesting.
Very good mixtape with production by Lee Bannon, Alchemist, MoSS and Bronze Nazareth who made the best beat in my opinion.

Download.

Audio: DDay One - Stems of Hip Hop // Mixtape

Stems of Hip Hop” was created circa 99/00 (Pre Internet Download Era) with a turntable, mixer, tons of vinyl and a four-track as a tribute to advancements in experimental hip hop music and drum and bass that spawned from the pioneer days of hip-hop production (sampling). Now its re-released by Rhythm Incursions “In session” which is a tribute to the Art of Preservation and Mix-Tape culture. Get your copy right here.

Audio: Fiend - Smokin Champagne // Mixtape

Buzzin Ft Nesby Phips

Florence Italy

I promised myself: never ever will I support DJs who scream, talk or drop bombs on records, but on the other hand I really do enjoy listening to Fiend when he rocks over these smooth blaxploitation beats. It all started when I heard his joints with the Spitta. No Curren$y appearences on this tape though. I think I have picked my favorite two songs above, but try it for yourself. Maybe we get a chance to get this tape without these awful tags in the future.
