To celebrate the announcement of his All-Ohio
"No Place Like Home" Tour, Stalley releases the music video for "Long
Way Down" off of his Honest Cowboy mixtape. The music video was
directed by BMike and the song is produced by Soundtrakk and features
Crystal Torres.
Smokers Corner will be back open on February 14, 2012, when Ski Beatz drops his new album "Twilight". The usual suspects are on board, like Stalley or Curren$y. Eased instrumental in the background may tells what to expect, blunted and soulful, music to lean backwards. o
Before you guys start crying about how this blog is going mainstream because of a Rick Ross appearence, you should consider listening to Stalley`s music first. We are great fans of the dude and it is good to see that he finally gets the attention he deserves (and yeah... let him show off his new toys...why not?). I recommend watching this video or downloading his last album for free which is now being re-released and remastered through Ricky`s label. Check Stalley`s blog for more videos and music. Oh yes, almost forgot. We did an interview with Stalley in 2010.
Stalley is giving us his new album for free... whuut?
I guess nobody is buying cds anymore, right?
You can hear how much time they spend to get every little piece/sound on here to be perfect, so show some respect and check it out. Intelligent Trunk Music is the best desription. Download this, put it on your mp3player and take a stroll.
Fresh as fuck. Shouts to Dan.
Stalley gives us a second leak of his latest project entirely produced by Rashad Thomas. This beat is futuristic and makes me want to hear some more. Lincoln Way Nights (Intelligent Trunk Music) is coming on the 11th of january.
Stalley has been selected by Nike as an “influencer” in their Destroy to Create campaign and joins the NYC Destroyer Crew alongside Jack Greer, Kai Perez, Veronica Velasquez, Chad Gittens, Wonka and Pryce Holmes. The crew traveled to London for the campaign launch event. Stalley provided part of the live soundtrack for the “Destroy to Create” event at Nike’s 1948 space in London with the Gallows (UK) and DJs Hi-C and Yasa (Japan DMC Champs) all complementing live boxing from Kina Malpartida. The event also included visual art from Mark Cavendish x Duffy, I Have Pop, Harry Malt x Tim Barber, Frank (Gallows frontman) and Emiliano Liberatori from Frith Street Tattoos Check out the NYC Destroyer video and the mini documentary from the "Destroy to Create" launch event.
Stalley shared the first song "Hercules" from his upcoming album Intelligent Trunk Muzik. Stalley on that 2 Live crew sample makes hungry for more. Stay tuned.
I honestly was a bit dissapointed with Pilot Talk except songs like "Address" featuring Stalley, "Prioritize" and "King Kong", but this makes me hope for a better sequel.
The song is produced by none other than Ski Beatz and comes with that perfect stoner vibe that I want to hear the Spitta jump on.
Plus I love it when people "sample" old skool video material for a music video. Creative Control equals quality.
Director and New Orleans native BMike (2-Cent TV) was inspired to create the music video for Stalley's "Babblin" in remembrance of the devastation from Hurricane Katrina for the upcoming 5th anniversary (Aug. 29, 2010). "Babblin" (prod. by J. Rawls) is off Stalley's "Autobiography" project, which can be downloaded for free at http://stalley330.bandcamp.com/.
After some free Leaks, some Videos by Creative Control and a free Mixtape here you can take a look at Stalley's newest and good looking visuals in remembrance of the devastation from Hurricane Katrina.Stalley is one of the most talented Rookies in our opinion. If you dont know him or missed some releases, check the posts at our blog or read the interview we did with him.Keep your eyes on STALLEY.Thx. 2 Dan for all the support.
In this new episode of Stalley's "The Milq", Creative Control catches the Bruce Springsteen of rap getting freshened up with Jameel and DJ Steph Floss of the Eighty81 crew at Supreme Clientele in Cleveland.

If you scroll through our blog you have realized that we are huge fans of Stalley`s music. So when we had the chance to ask a couple of questions we immediatly said: let`s do it. Upmost respect to Stalley and Dan for making it happen.
# Please introduce yourself to everybody who doesn`t know about you yet?
Peace Germany, this is Stalley from Massillon, Ohio, 330. I’ve been rhyming for about 3 years now and live in New York City. I’m currently independent.
# We know that you originally come from a small place in Ohio, but then moved to New York. Did you feel like you had to move in order to push your career as a rapper or what was the reason for that?
Yea, basically. I originally came to NYC for school, but when I moved back home and saw how it was out there I knew I would have to move back to NYC to really get anywhere in the music industry.
# When was the first time that you thought that rap would be something you could live from? The first time I thought I could live from music was probably on July 14, 2009 when I dropped The Autobiography and performed at SOB’s in front of a sold-out crowd. That whole experience made me think I could really possibly do something with music.
# We also know that you are a big Madlib fan. What are your favorite three Madlib beats of all times?
The first three that come to mind are Fancy Clown from the MadVillain project, Distant Land from Shades of Blue and The Healer from Badu’s New Amerykah joint.
# How/when did you get in contact with Ski Beatz? Well I linked up with Creative Control for the video for “Autobiography” and once I was around DD172 it just happened naturally since Ski is always at the dojo workin’.
# We really like "Pressure" (produced by Micheal Sterling Eaton). Maybe you can tell us something about the way how you approach these songs? It seems like you are extremly serious about everything you say and stand for. Where does this seriousness originate from?
I grew up in a city where everything is hard and you have to work to get where you wanna be, so I take that and apply it to my music, especially when I’m drawing on those experiences. The beat also took me to a place where I was reminiscing about the hard times and the trials and tribulations that I’ve been through. I just wanted people to know that amidst all the pressure, you can overcome and find peace. In this case it was about me being from a small city and going somewhere with bright lights and just trying to get over that.
# Now tell us something about the "Address" video with Curren$y and Ski Beatz and the whole journey. It seems like you wrote the verse during the video shoot, because it fits just perfectly. How was the creative process for this project? I wrote and recorded the song in Jamaica and basically the verse just reflected everything I saw there. I just put myself in a Jamaica state of mind and focused on the sun, the trees and everything around me. I really wrote that at an exact moment and the lyrics just show how I felt right then. It just so happened that we shot the video there and it came out how exactly Jamaica felt to me.
# What will be next?
Right now, I’m working on finishing a project with a very dope producer named Rashad from the 3rd in Columbus, Ohio. We’re really gonna be taking my sound somewhere new and different. I’m also working on an entire project with Ski Beatz that should be incredible.
I really enjoy listening to these Reefer Boys (Curren$y, Smoke DZA, Stalley, Devin The Dude,...). It is just so fuckin laid back. The Beats always play a big part of it ...so after we saw Von Pea make his beats on the NI Maschine, here we can catch a glimpse of how Ski Beatz makes his music with the help of Ableton Live. Maschine and Ableton Live8 ..the perfect combination.
By the way this is off Smoke`s upcoming mixtape George Kush Da Button.
