Random Slick Rick Fact: I posted this song on CB a long time ago so sorry if this is old hat, but several months ago I sold the bootleg 12” to Pete Rock’s brother, InI member and long time DMV rep Grap Luva. Grap was shocked to see it, confirming that it was, in fact, a Pete Rock beat but not knowing that it had been booted. He only knew the track from when he snuck into his brothers spot and dubbed it off a DAT. He was also convinced it was a Japanese bootleg because of the spelling: “Sleazy Gynocorogist.” So yeah, I don’t know if anybody is still actively maintaining Pete Rock discographies on the internet but if you are there you go. Update that shit.

On goes the story: New York City hip hop group Automato is Alex Frankel, Ben Fries, Jesse Levine, Nick Millhiser, Andrew Raposo and Morgan Wiley. Completed in January of 2003, their forthcoming debut album was produced by James Murphy and Tim Goldsworthy of the DFA. The goal was to make an album that sounds and feels like the sample based hip hop records they love, yet capture the un-hip hop 'band' element of the group. To be honest I can`t really stand it when producers are using this same old Curtis loop over and over again, but Pete Rock can do whatever. This lightens up my heart. The drums come in and this track starts rolling like an old honda over these bumpy middle-eastern dirtroads so that you can hear the rust falling of.
Kanye`s huge ego has to be streched over the first two verses - well ok, Jay comes in sounding like he caught some second hand smoke. Charlie does his little "Hey" and Cudi brings a hook/bridge thing that put the last touches on this beauty.
This is for my wonderful girl back home. Anabahibbic.

i remember when i first heard him and his buddies from the U.N. on pete rock`s album on bbe. i was hooked. then came the album "UN or U Out" which was hard as hell (although i never really found out who produced all the tracks, because there was nothing on the vinyl sleeve about the production credits...i think they had pete rock, nz`s own dj p money and marciano him self doing the beats), but i had the feeling hardly anybody recognized their potential. then there was roc marciano appearing on marco polo`s project...then "snow" as a sort of youtube preview....now finally we get some more and i bet it`s not there fault, but man have i been waiting for this. please make it official and release this motherfucker called MARCBERG! don`t make a junkie get the itches...
