Heard this song yesterday... heard it again today... and it still bangs! Does anybody know who made the beat? Nneka has a new album out. It is called Soul Is Heavy.
I guess you either like it or you don`t. Not your typical femcee....blablabla
Exclusive track by the Roots for designer John Varvatos. Dont need many words for this fashion project, the nameless track is typically Roots, typically fresh. That's all...via
This kind of fits in where I am at right now. Dizzy of a few caipirinhas and brews. Let me explain...
We have some sort of carnival here in Berlin with Hipsters/Hippies and other Germans trying to dance salsa while getting drunk. I live right on that street and had enough for now. Turn this up muthaf....

I guess I am getting old. I never thought I could fuck with this "I reminisce about the 90s" shit, but this hook is so catchy and just caught me at the right moment, I guess.
Good shit.'Preservation' of The Greatest Rapper Never trilogy...out June 7th.
Get this via Itunes or wait till the Album drops.
I love this song and now it`s been properly used in my opinion.
Back in the days when I used to hop on the skateboard a lot I saw this video by the company Real and it had a part with like the best skateboard pros riding the streets of L.A. or S.F. and Good Music by The Roots was part of the soundtrack. That was like the coolest shit ever. This gets close, though I don`t even have a bike at the moment. SoLo, I need my bike. Please help me, brother.
Hosted by The Roots’ own Black Thought, WAKE UP! RADIO pays tribute to the legacy of soul music that paved the way for WAKE UP! and imagines a world where mainstream radio transmits music with a message. Employing an all-star cast of musical contemporaries (including John Legend & The Roots themselves), J.Period dissects, remixes and rebuilds the original recording sessions from the WAKE UP! album in an unprecedented manner, defying the conventional wisdom of what a “mixtape” can be—producing a full-fledged remix album in the process.
This Project is of da chain. According to the 5-time Grammy Nomination for the Grammy Awards this Sunday J.PERIOD presents his "Wake Up! Radio" Mixtape. Fully remixed with the Original Sources of the recording sessions of "Wake Up!". 32 Tracks with features of Common, Q-Tip, K'naan, Blu, Nneka and many more, nevertheless new material of John Legend and Black Thought. Now I saw this a couple of days ago, but somehow ignored the play button. We posted numerous songs off the new The Roots album (just search for it on the top left of the screen) and after listening to "How I Got Over" for so many times now I have to say it`s very radio friendly, but every single song is good. The video is süper nice, too. Directed by Jason Goldwatch.
The Album is out tomorrow (USA) or on the 2nd of Juli over here in Europe. Today I found another leak on dallaspenn. I also saw the album leak yesterday, which is a pitty, but I guess the album is strong enough to compensate that. Plus playing for Fallon and all the touring should have them in a comfortable position. I feel sorry for Drake though...ehm..no. Great song.
Here is the latest song of the new Roots album featuring Phonte and Blu. Above you`ll find a clip of The Roots performing another song at Jimmy Fallons show. Promoting what they do in their free time while at work, sort of... Anyway...album is out tuesday.
Yesterday solo posted a studio session video of the Money Making Jam Boys and I didn`t really understand why...now I now. This is crazy. Would be cool to have this version as a quality mp3. peace
Ok I am back, bitches. Had to take some time off. First I want to post some Roots stuff. Now for some of you this might be too POP...well fuck you. The Roots don`t know how to make wack music, they don`t even know how to make decent music...it`s always THE SHIT. John Legend doesn`t even sound like John Legend on this one, so why is that? Because he is with the best of the best. Can`t wait for the Blu features though. Peace. More shit tomorrow. jimmy
Fresh outta soul bakery!"Doin It Again" is the second announcement from the new "The Roots" Album "How i got over"."John Legend" lent them his great voice for the chorus.Seems to be a soulful Album.Take a listen to "Dear God 2.0" at this point.Only 3 weeks to wait for the big cake! Now i have to cook a ginger roots tea against my flu.
The Roots are coming with a new Album called "How I Got Over" which will be out on the 22nd of June. Their Team Member Dice Raw drops a sick one over at dallaspenn. This sounds very much like the last Roots album which was as good as you expect. Also the first leak was dope as shit too. Whohaa. jimmy (Not Fallon)
