It highlights his versatile style influenced by the elctronic music history of Detroit. Its been a while since i checked Jay Lotus soundcloud page for new stuff. I directly some new gems, JayLotus's vover version of Dilla's "Thelonius" and Odd i see which is skewed and loose. "Odd i see" appeared on the VariationMusic series, which also features Deflon. Spread the word.

Ridiculous Raw

ridiculous raw  - this is really how it should be done! Brilliant mixes flipping all styles ("A Funk Soul Jazz Afro Latin Brazilian Reggae Breaks Library Exotic Soundtracks Psychedelic affair"), accuratly compiled with not only complete tracklist, but recordcovers, releasedate, labelinfo and some personal words to each track.
The founder jakob "AME"iller and his contributing friends, seem to be well known (at least in belgium) but are new to my ears, describe the blog as "merely the product of 20+ years collecting, selling, trading, sharing info & digital archiving Black Music."

So, the last mix they put up is the guestmix "Mauzer on the Rocks" by Dj Mauz with a nice selection of in the same time funky as psychedelic rock gems. This makes me go digging immediatly.

And the second one is a mix by AME himself which is a bit older and was realeased (befor ridiculousraw when I understood this right) on an affiliated site onpoint. "Still shinin" is one of the better dilla-sample-mixes. Ranging from single productions he did in the beginning over the slumvillage stuff to shining.. enjoy.

From the Madlib Medicine Show #11: Low Budget High Fi Music here is a track from Madlib & J Dilla from their never-realized second album. Jaylib was formed in 2002 as Madlib & Dilla recorded separately in Los Angeles and Detroit. Their one album, Champion Sound, was released in 2003.  When J Dilla moved to Los Angeles, he, Madlib and J Rocc began doing shows together as Jaylib, performing together for the first time at the Madvillain record release party in April 2004. Madlib and Dilla collaborated primarily through the exchange of beat tapes, occasionally reworking each others material, or chopping the same beat in a kind of recorded call-and-response.
