The four pillars of Beige have always been flaunted but disco still hasn't been represented on the mix front. So it's a great pleasure to have our first one curated by none other than Jacques Renault, a New York disco legend who transcends his US roots to bring slavish, daring beats to UK shores. Wrapped in silken swing, he slings samples off the hook with the delights of the oft-sampled Imagination making a sly appearance and half-time jive and jazz giving the mix ample stomp to see the night off.
The work on Haven`t you Heard started way back in `97 and is now set to be released on February 8th. I read that this song was originally supposed to be an Eastsidaz track (Trae Deee on the first verse) and was produced in `98 by Battlecat. I guess from what I know Eastsidaz was formed because LBC broke up. Now Trae Deee being in jail it will be a while until we see the ES unite again. (By the way what is Goldie Loc up to these days?) Snoop Dogg Presents Tha Eastsidaz was and still is the fucking shit and I hope this LBC project will be just as good. Google the album and you will find an old version of it somewhere.
Get better Nate Dogg and hold ya head Trae Deee.

THE INSANE WARRIOR PROJECT
The Insane Warrior is calling for submissions of your creative interpretations of the album, 'We Are The Doorways.' Pretty much anything is fair game as long as it is your original work based on one or more of the tracks off the album - videos, lyrics, vocals, drawings, photographs, animation, dances - it is up to you and your imagination. You can even make something with your bare hands and take a picture! Here's a hint though: this album was born after many dedicated hours of listening to sci-fi and horror movies from 1975-1984.
The official music video for "The Water Wheel" from RJD2's The Insane Warrior album, 'We Are The Doorways' - available now at http://rjd2.bandcamp.com.
Jimbo send us a very nice selection of beats for our next Beat Compilation, so this one here is to give some support back.
Jaisu has send his beats, we are waiting for one more guy. Let`s not make it a Detox (you know who you are!).
Check more of Jimbo`s stuff here.
Thanx to Mr. Tillich.
Q-Tip and his cousin kick it over a Dilla beat? Hell yeah. Beats, Life And Rhymes is like my favorite album and this sounds like a leftover from that time. Consequence is promoting his forthcoming album "Classic Cons".
