Sasha 'DZA' Kholenko is a super-versatile beat maker from Moscow, RBMA-graduate, Pitchfork-coverboy and alongside fellow Pixelord head to the 'Fly Russia' movement. He made his debut to the world in 2010 when Error Broadcast released his beat tape 'Five-Finger Discount'. Shortly after, DZA asked friends to remix single tracks off this record. The results are now bundled into epic 60 minutes of 'Five-Finger Remixes' available all digital and as a lush white music cassette of only 100 copies.

For the fourth installation of our mixtape series, we are glad to welcome UK producer S.Maharba. The name is notoriously surrounded with fuzzy images of pin-up girls, however not much is known of the person behind this masquerade of 1970’s sex idols.
His Banu tape for EB compiles the most adventurous beat music you can find to date. Dirty L.A. is featured with Juj, Kutmah, Durlin Lurt and Leaving Records boss MatthewDavid. AEED, ichiro_ and OL from our team make another appearance, as well as EB future wunderkind iL. UK stands tall with Kato, Young Montana? and shooting stars Forest Swords. Most tracks are condensed to the very essence, looped and blurred into each other while S.Maharba lavishly embraces everything from Progressive Rock to reverb-laden Ambient: this is what makes this mix one of the best we had in a long, long while.

Hi everyone,
we teamed up with Siberian weblog Gimme5 to deliver this 17-track compilation Fly Russia that features all the names relevant to the Russian beatscene such as Pixelord, DZA, Lapti, Nocow, 813, Kontext, Demokracy, OL and many others.
At all given diversity, common to all tracks on Fly Russia is an in-depth understanding of 20 years of experimental electronic music, the love for a Hip Hop and downbeat tempo plus something people might define as "Slav Soul". Beneath several layers of nasty beats and hissing synthesizers, melancholy lurks in nearly every song. The generation of young beatmakers we refer to as Fly Russia does aim for nodding heads and emotional impact all but the same.Gimme5 and Error Broadcast offer something real unique here.

Error Broadcast & Gimme5 teamed up to bring you that dope collection of sound made by cats they are avid on future beats. Electric spheres on banging drums, much synthie wefts and (lovely) dub basses. You have to watch out for this. I had the chance to listen to the full album and it is frisky indeed.
