I did it again. Nas and Marley again?! Had this laying around since yesterday and told myself can`t post them again, but then I read that this will not be on "Distant Relatives" and I personally don`t understand why? So before this get`s lost in the 3 big Ws take a listen. I really dig the first Damian verse...Nas`s verse sounds like he`s been in the studio with his Jamaican brother for some time now. The sample is nice and not Indian at all. Hyptrak tells me it`s of Amadou & Mariam`s last album "Welcome to Mali". “Sabali” means patience.

Automato marks the first hip hop artist on Dim Mak and an explosive introduction to boot. We at Dim Mak are very proud this is ... (more) our hip hop debut. On goes the story: New York City hip hop group Automato is Alex Frankel, Ben Fries, Jesse Levine, Nick Millhiser, Andrew Raposo and Morgan Wiley. Completed in January of 2003, their forthcoming debut album was produced by James Murphy and Tim Goldsworthy of the DFA. The goal was to make an album that sounds and feels like the sample based hip hop records they love, yet capture the un-hip hop 'band' element of the group. They not only succeeded at this, but surpassed their expectations and the result is a testament to Automato's willingness to go where other hip hop groups will not. automatoAutomato's interests and aspirations lie beyond the pigeonhole of genre rap or underground hip hop and seem to branch into whatever the fuck they were feeling that day. Wer hätte das gedacht! Reflection Eternal kommen zurück, und zwar in einer Qualität die ich nicht mehr erwartet habe. Nachdem die Beiden auf Solopfaden unterwegs waren gab es einige Entäuschungen und nicht wenige Fans waren von Kwelis Style genervt und Hi-Teks Beats haben mich auch nicht mehr sooo umgehauen.. Aber das zweite Album scheint nach, ähhhh.. langer Zeit, wieder dort anzuknüpfen, wo die beiden aufgehört haben. Klar, Stimme und Flow sind nicht mehr so ungezwungen wie bei "Fortified Live" und erscheinen mir kalkulierter. Aber es ist schön zu sehen wie die alten Helden wieder komplette Alben produzieren die es sich wirklich zu kaufen lohnt.

Das Mixtape beinhalted sowohl neue und unveröffentliche Tracks vom kommenden Album sowie eine Übersicht über die Hits der Vergangenheit. Die nervigen Shoutouts gibt es auch hier. Static Selektah, der das Ganze gemischt hat, beschränkt sich aber auf ein annehmbares Maß. Alles in allem also ein sehr zu empfehlender Download.
