we teamed up with Siberian weblog Gimme5 to deliver this 17-track compilation Fly Russia that features all the names relevant to the Russian beatscene such as Pixelord, DZA, Lapti, Nocow, 813, Kontext, Demokracy, OL and many others.
At all given diversity, common to all tracks on Fly Russia is an in-depth understanding of 20 years of experimental electronic music, the love for a Hip Hop and downbeat tempo plus something people might define as "Slav Soul". Beneath several layers of nasty beats and hissing synthesizers, melancholy lurks in nearly every song. The generation of young beatmakers we refer to as Fly Russia does aim for nodding heads and emotional impact all but the same.Gimme5 and Error Broadcast offer something real unique here.

Error Broadcast & Gimme5 teamed up to bring you that dope collection of sound made by cats they are avid on future beats. Electric spheres on banging drums, much synthie wefts and (lovely) dub basses. You have to watch out for this. I had the chance to listen to the full album and it is frisky indeed. Solo did post this a little while ago because I was away for a couple of days. I felt like I had to bring it back.
L.e is special. He has a unique voice that some people instantly have to comment (hate) about, but L.e knows how to handle the hate from way back ("black kids call me white/ the whites call me nigga") and plays with his voice like Madlib did with Quasimoto (the high voice beeing his normal voice in this case).
The music is constantly changing and evolving. There is not a beat on here that doesn`t change at all and you can hear the perfectionism that was put into this project. Can anybody tell me who produced this?
I am pretty shure this is not for everybody, but do yourself a favour and check him out.

Qwel & Maker are totally new to me, so I call this a pleasant surprise.
Perfect production and good straight rap without bullshit animated punchlines. This is music that you can hear 100s of times and not be bored.
Plus don`t be fooled... skip ahead and you will find a second song that is totally different again.
Nice one.
