House remixes of mulatu´s hits were released, Nas & Damian sampled Yegeelle Tezeta, OHNO made a whole album going through some ethiopian crates..

Brian Shimkovitz from Brooklyn who runs the blog seems to own tons of cassettes from the motherland and he is digitalizing them for our pleasure. You can find all sorts of music there - from cheap, trashy electro reggae to deep funk.

The one I picked out is a very mellow one. As someone mentioned in the comments it´s Asters first recording. Incredible hypnotizing.. Download from awesometapesfromafrica and make shure to check out some of the other posts. But be careful to not get lost in these crates..

However, Bad Season is a new free Mixtape of Tech N9ne mixed by Whoo Kid. It features the whole Strange Music Family plus Travis Barker. Musicwise is contains a variety of new Music like the Dr. Dre (!) produced "Hard Liquor", the extraordinary "Ego Trippin" and the raw "Table & Chest Stress" plus some old tracks. Ignoring some rare autotune parts i fully aggree to Whoo Kid, who said that "in his 10+ year career 'Bad Season' is one the best Mixtapes he has ever released".

Blokker Kollege Jonathan von Weg-Eins hat mir dieses schöne Album von Tufu & Anthony Drawn (Saxophon) gepeept. Verträumte, Jazzige, BoomBap Beats treffen auf einen Sichtexoten namens Tufu, der mir zum ersten mal auf der Mixtapesammelstelle mit seinem Album "Tufu - Die Symbolik des Mastschweins" begegnete. Tufu ist ein Rapper der bei seinen Rhymes mit vielen Bildern arbeitet, die auf die wolkenweichen Beats gesetzt werden wie die Landung einer Biene auf die Blüten. Während sich auf dem Album auch romantische Atmosphären bilden, ist Gesellschaftskritik und leichte Anti-Haltung gegenüber Konsum- und Geistesverhalten seiner (unserer) Generation, klarer Bestandteil. ich mag es weil es für mich roh und ungebunden bleibt, im Vergleich dazu Max Herre, ein Spinner aus reichem Elternhaus der mit Mao-Zetongs rotem Reimbuch rumwedelt. Ich will mal nicht abschweifen, und lass euch mal allein mit Tufu und Anthony. YoYO.
p.s. Ich vergaß zu erwähnen das sich auch reine Instrumentals auf dem Album befinden.
